How it works

1. 1Upload a PDF. We find every table in it and show you what we found, page by page.
2. 2Choose the tables you want. A table that continues across pages can be combined into one sheet.
3. 3Each table becomes a sheet in a workbook.
4. 4Cells we are unsure about are flagged rather than quietly cleaned up — we never invent a value that was not on the page.

Supported formats

This tool accepts .pdf. Up to 10 pages without an account. We work out the encoding and the separator from the file itself, so a semicolon-separated export or one saved in a non-UTF-8 encoding opens correctly rather than as a single column of nonsense.

Questions

Does it work on scanned PDFs?

Not yet. Extraction uses the text layer, which is present in anything produced by a computer rather than a scanner. A scanned page has no text layer, and we say so rather than producing a table of guesses.

How accurate is it?

Very, on a PDF with ruled tables and a real text layer — the characters are exact. Where a table has no ruling lines we reconstruct the columns from the layout, which is a weaker signal, and we mark those tables so you know to check the column boundaries.

What happens to my file?

It is uploaded over an encrypted connection, processed, and deleted automatically - within 24 hours for anonymous use. We never use anyone’s spreadsheet data to train models. You can delete a job and its files at any time from the job page.
